Today marks the first edition, filled with enchanting finds!
1.Song: Os Tincoãs - Deixa A Gira Girar
This week, I’ve been completely captivated by the song "Deixa A Gira Girar" by Os Tincoãs. The track's hypnotic rhythms and soulful harmonies create a mesmerizing listening experience that transports you to another world. The song's powerful blend of traditional beats and spiritual lyrics resonates deeply, making it a truly transformative piece. Listening to it feels like a spiritual journey, evoking a sense of connection and grounding that stays with you long after the music ends. If you’re looking for a song that’s both enchanting and uplifting, "Deixa A Gira Girar" is a must-listen.
2. Food: Clark’s Austin - Crudo Plate *
This week, I was completely captivated by the Crudo Plate at Clark’s Austin. The dish features delicate slices of fresh fish, beautifully complemented by a wasabi and lemon vinaigrette. The briny capers, thinly sliced red onion, and chives add layers of flavor and texture, making each bite an unworldly experience. This harmonious blend of ingredients elevates the crudo to an art form! & of course we had to pair with some bubbles.
3. Artist: Joseph Yaeger
Joseph Yaeger is a London-based artist whose work captures the essence of fleeting memories and emotional depth through cinematic watercolors on gessoed canvas. Born in Montana, Yaeger's art often features close-ups of hands, mouths, and eyes, creating a visceral, intimate experience. His paintings, rich in texture and color, reflect his fascination with cinema, blending meticulous technique with evocative imagery. Yaeger's exhibitions have earned him a notable place in contemporary art, making his work a compelling blend of filmic and tactile elements. Check out his work on Instagram for more of his captivating pieces.
Yaeger's process involves extensive preparation before painting, often working from film stills or other found images. He layers gesso on canvas, sometimes creating texture with water or the back of a brush, before applying his watercolors. This meticulous method results in works that are rich in texture and color, resembling oil paintings at first glance. For more details on Joseph Yaeger and his work, you can visit his official website and read more about his recent exhibitions on Creative Boom and Art Plugged.
4. Book: The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer
I'm diving back into The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer for the second time. The first read was right before we moved to Mexico City during the pandemic, and it was the perfect guide to getting into a good headspace for that big decision. Singer’s insights on letting go of habitual thoughts and emotions, embracing the present moment, and finding inner peace are transformative. This book teaches the importance of living with an open heart and mind, allowing us to navigate life’s challenges with grace and clarity. If you haven't yet, this book is a must-read for grounding and personal growth.

6. Experience: Wally Workman Gallery: Featuring Patrick Puckett
I was am beyond excited to see Patrick Puckett's show at Wally Workman Gallery. Known for his bold use of color and dynamic compositions, Puckett's work is a vibrant exploration of human figures and emotions. His distinctive style, characterized by large, flat areas of color and abstract forms, creates a captivating visual experience that draws you in and invites you to explore the nuances of each piece.
